Link & Dink Weekly — week of August 31
Here's what's happening around the courts this week. Pick a game, wave a new player in, and we'll see you out there.
New & changed this week
- Cancelled: the MVF Pickleball Tournament by Link and Dink, which we'd had on the calendar for Sat, Sep 5, is off. We promoted it in the last two issues, so if you'd been planning your weekend around it — apologies for the change. If you were registered, just reply to this email and we'll sort it out with you.
Labor Day Open Moneyball — play it with me
The Pickl Park is running an open Moneyball tournament on Labor Day, and I'm in the field for it. If you've been looking for a reason to compete, this is a good one — and the bigger the draw, the better the day.
- The Pickl Park: Labor Day Open Moneyball Tournament · Mon, Sep 7, 5:00–9:00 PM — The Pickl Park, Frederick (register)
Entry fee, brackets and the rest of the details are on The Pickl Park's page — this one's theirs, so registration goes through them, not us. It's a drive from most of MoCo, so plan for it.
Clinics with Coach Sam at The Pickl Park
I run skills assessment clinics up at The Pickl Park in Frederick — an hour, small groups, honest feedback on where your game actually is and what to work on next. Two levels each day:
- Skills Assessment — Beginner/Intermediate · Mon, Aug 31, 12:00–1:00 PM (register)
- Skills Assessment — Intermediate/Advanced · Mon, Aug 31, 1:00–2:00 PM (register)
- Skills Assessment — Beginner/Intermediate · Mon, Sep 7, 12:00–1:00 PM (register)
- Skills Assessment — Intermediate/Advanced · Mon, Sep 7, 1:00–2:00 PM (register)
Labor Day works out nicely: clinic at noon, Moneyball at five, same courts.
