Terms of Service

The deal, in plain English.

Who we are

Link & Dink (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a Maryland-based pickleball community operator. We run pop-up tournaments, curated groups, and leagues across the DMV, and we build the software the community uses to find games. These terms cover our websites and apps — linkanddink.com and everything under it. Reach us at admin@linkanddink.com.

By using Link & Dink, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Your account

  • How you sign in: an emailed sign-in link, a password you set, or your Google account. Signing in with Google shares your name, profile picture, and email address with us — nothing else, and we never post anything to your Google account.
  • One person, one account.Use your real name and a working email address. Other players need to know who they're getting on court with.
  • Your account is yours to look after.Don't share your sign-in link or password. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
  • You can leave any time.Email us and we'll close your account and erase your records — see the privacy policyfor the two things we're required to keep.

What it costs

The core is free, and it stays free.Finding players, joining groups, RSVPing to games, browsing the community — we don't charge for any of it and we don't take a cut when two people in the community play together. That is a commitment, not an introductory rate.

  • Some events have an entry fee. It's shown on the event before you RSVP. Where we run the event, we collect it; where someone else hosts, you pay the host directly and the listing says so.
  • Coaches set their own rates and keep what they earn. A lesson you book with a coach is between you and that coach.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We keep a payment reference, never your card number.

Events, RSVPs, and cancellations

  • An RSVP is a commitment to show up. Rosters, brackets, and courts get built around it, and a no-show costs three other people their game.
  • Plans change — cancel in the app as early as you can so we can pull someone off the waitlist.
  • Paid events: the cancellation and refund terms are in the refund policy.
  • Every event requires a signed waiver. The event waiver — the release of liability, assumption of risk, and media release — governs your participation in events, and it controls over this page where the two overlap.
  • We may cancel or move an event for weather, venue problems, or too few players. We will tell you as soon as we know.

How we expect people to behave

We are building somewhere new players feel invited. That only works if everyone holds the line. Don't harass, threaten, or demean anyone. Don't discriminate. Don't misrepresent your skill level to get into a bracket you don't belong in. Don't use the platform to spam other players, scrape their contact details, or recruit them for something else. Respect the venues we play at — many are shared or donated, and losing one hurts everybody.

We can remove content, cancel an RSVP, or close an account that breaks these rules. For anything serious — safety, harassment, a threat to a venue relationship — we'll act immediately and explain afterwards.

Groups and what you post

Group names, descriptions, event details, scores, and messages you write stay yours. You give us permission to display and distribute them where the platform needs to — the group's page, the schedule, the newsletter. Don't post anything you don't have the right to post. Organizers are responsible for the events they create and the accuracy of what those listings say.

Coaches

Coaches who represent Link & Dink are vetted. Anyone can play here; not everyone gets to coach under our name. Coaches keep their own player relationships and their own rates — we don't sit between a coach and their player, and we don't take a share of their lessons.

Players under 18

A parent or guardian signs up minors, signs the waiver, and RSVPs on their behalf — children don't get their own accounts. If you're a parent, you're agreeing to these terms for your child as well as yourself. See the privacy policyfor how we handle a minor's information.

Your information

What we collect and why is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms. The short version: we don't sell your data.

Things we rely on

Link & Dink runs on services we don't control — hosting (Vercel, Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Resend), text messaging (Twilio), and Google sign-in. When you use those parts of the platform, those providers' own terms apply to their piece of it.

The platform itself

We're building this in the open and it changes often. We may add, change, or retire features, and we may have downtime. We provide the platform “as is” — we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't guarantee that a game will fill, that a bracket is a perfect read on anyone's level, or that another player is who they say they are.

Risk, and the limits of our responsibility

Pickleball carries inherent physical risk. You play at your own risk, and the event waiversets out the release you sign before playing. Link & Dink helps people find each other; we don't supervise play, and we're not responsible for the conduct of other players, organizers, coaches, or venues.

To the fullest extent Maryland law allows, Link & Dink is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, and our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; where that's the case, they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and we'll announce material changes by email or text (if you've opted in). Continuing to use Link & Dink after a change means you accept the updated terms.
