Sam coaches adults and juniors across Montgomery County — from players picking up a paddle for the first time to 4.0s prepping for their next tournament. A former MCPS physical educator (9 years, 5 schools) with an M.S. in Coaching from Ball State, he found pickleball in 2019 and has been building competitive play and coaching programs in MoCo since 2022.
On the court he's a 5.0+ competitive player — Mixed Gender Gold in the Legends Open Division — but the work is about you: every drill has a purpose, every milestone gets called out, and the lesson is built to hold up the next time you're down 8–10.
Coaching philosophy
Sport is more than a game — it's how a community gets stronger together. Sessions are structured, safe, and genuinely fun, built on EASE values: Ethics, Attitude, Skills, Excellence. A clear path from beginner to advanced — confidence on the court, resilience off it.
