How it runs

Rotating-partner round robin: you get a new partner every round and score for yourself, not your pair. Stage 1: two pools of 9 running in parallel, nine rounds each (you sit out one round), so you partner every player in your pool once (games to 11, win by 2). Play-Ins: in each pool the 3rd to 6th seeds play one game to 15 for the last bracket spots; the 3rd seed picks a partner and the other two pair up. Top 8: the eight advancers are seeded and captains pick partners to form four teams. Semis (top vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd), then the Final. Each is a single game to 15, win by 2. Standings are ranked by wins, then head-to-head wins among the tied players, then point differential, then point differential in games between the tied players, then point differential against the players just above, then points scored.

Play-Ins, Top 8, Semifinals and Final

1st and 2nd in each pool go straight to the Top 8. In each pool, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th play a Play-In for that pool's last two spots. Everyone else is done for the night.

In each Play-In, the 3rd place picks a partner from the other three; the last two pair up. In the Top 8, seeds 1, 2 and 3 each pick a partner in seed order from the players left; the last two pair up.

Top 8 seeds: 1 = 1st in Pool A; 2 = 1st in Pool B; 3 = 2nd in Pool A; 4 = 2nd in Pool B; 5 = Pool A Play-In winner who finished higher in the pool; 6 = Pool A Play-In winner who finished lower in the pool; 7 = Pool B Play-In winner who finished higher in the pool; 8 = Pool B Play-In winner who finished lower in the pool.

  • Play-In, Pool A: 3rd in Pool A + pick vs The other two
  • Play-In, Pool B: 3rd in Pool B + pick vs The other two
  • Semifinal 1: Team 1 (Seed 1 + pick) vs Team 4 (forced pair)
  • Semifinal 2: Team 2 (Seed 2 + pick) vs Team 3 (Seed 3 + pick)
  • Final: Winner SF1 vs Winner SF2

Play-Ins, semifinals and the Final are single games to 15, win by 2.
